In a pioneering step that strengthens Egypt’s leadership in addressing climate change challenges at the Arab and regional levels, the Institute of Sustainability and Carbon Footprint LLC (ISCF) has been officially launched as the first institute in Egypt and the Arab world dedicated to sustainability, carbon management, and climate risk assessment.
The institute is part of the International Expertise House for ESG, which includes:
Environmental auditing experts, sustainability reporting, and environmental consulting.
The College of Sustainability and Carbon Footprint LLC in the United Kingdom.

Building on extensive expertise in capacity development, ISCF was founded by the same team that pioneered Egypt’s first professional diploma in carbon footprint auditing in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This program has successfully graduated three consecutive cohorts of sustainability leaders, who became licensed Certified Carbon Footprint Auditors. These professionals laid the foundation for developing national expertise in the field, producing leading Arabic scientific references on carbon footprinting and greenhouse gas auditing, making ISCF a trusted academic and practical hub for:
Carbon footprint calculation.
Carbon neutrality.
Corporate sustainability.
Clean energy solutions.
The institute also provides integrated advisory services for companies and governments to align their activities with international standards and European regulations, such as:
International standards for sustainability reporting (GRI – IFRS S1 & S2 – TNFD – PCAF).
Recent EU legislation (CSRD – CBAM – EU Taxonomy – CSDDD).
Global standards in carbon and energy management (ISO 14064 – ISO 50001 – PAS 2060).
The institute is led by Ambassador Dr. Mostafa El Sherbiny, an internationally recognized expert in sustainability and climate risk assessment. Dr. El Sherbiny is the Executive Director of the College of Sustainability and Carbon Footprint in the UK, European Climate Pact Ambassador in Egypt, Chair of the Carbon Footprint and Sustainability Academic Chair at ALECSO–Arab League, and founder of the global initiatives “Climate Ambassadors” and “Auditors and Experts Initiative in Sustainability and Climate Risk Assessment”, both of which are recognized under official UN SDG Partnerships.
Ambassador El Sherbiny emphasized that the launch of ISCF continues Egypt’s climate leadership journey following its hosting of COP27, stating that the institute will serve as a regional hub for international professional certification, scientific research, environmental auditing, and consultancy, strengthening institutional capacity to address climate challenges and accelerate the green economy transition.
The institute’s team includes a distinguished group of international and regional experts and academics in carbon management, renewable energy, sustainable finance, circular economy, and non-financial reporting. ISCF will serve as a knowledge and action platform supporting governments, businesses, and civil society in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
